ACADEMICS

Montessori Method

The Montessori Curriculum is an innovative learning framework that incorporates specific learning outcomes and knowledge skills to align with children's evolving needs and interests. It is divided into five key areas of learning: practical life, sensorial, arithmetic, language, and culture; which in turn are based on Dr. Maria Montessori's findings about the significant developmental stages children move through from birth to age six and beyond. Our teachers act as facilitators providing children with a well organised environment intended to optimise their learning. This includes hands-on experience, adequate guidance, freedom of choice supported by a wide array of Montessori materials.

XSEED

Xseed program is an academic solution designed to raise the level of learning in classrooms and build confidence in children. Xseed follows the proven 5- Step experiential learning method where concepts are taught through hands on experimentation followed by questioning, application and feedback. This replaces the one step 'telling' and memorisation followed in many traditional classrooms. At SSV, Xseed curriculum is followed in Nursery & Primary.

NCERT

NCERT, which stands for National Council of Education, Research and Training, has been attributed the role of developing core skills and in depth knowledge and provides age appropriate syllabus. At SSV, we strictly adhere to CBSE norms by providing NCERT syllabus for Middle school and High school Students.

Nursery / Kindergarten (PreKG, JrKG, SrKG)

"Doing is learning," is the motto which forms the cornerstone of the curriculum followed in the nursery section. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. Each and every child entrusted to our care is treasured and nurtured, encouraged and appreciated.

Children, especially under the age of six, have an innate path of psychological development. Nursery education lays emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respects a child's natural psychological development. The curriculum stresses on developing the following skills:

PRIMARY (GRADES I - V)

The Primary Curriculum is one that consistently challenges the pupils, and does not allow a single day to be wasted. The curriculum aims to ensure that all children are provided with learning opportunities that recognise and celebrate their uniqueness and develop their full potential, besides equipping children with essential and important life skills targeted at functional literacy and numeracy. Regular classes in Art and Craft, Physical Education and Value Education empower the emotional intelligence and improve the creative abilities of the learners.

The teachers play the role of facilitators enabling the students to learn in a joyful environment.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & SECONDARY (GRADES VI - X)

The middle & secondary school curriculum envisions the all-round development of students which emphasizes on the integration of co-curricular domains with curricular activities in an equitable manner. The curriculum of NCERT & guidelines of CBSE are judiciously followed.

The curriculum is learner-centered with school being a place where students would be acquiring various skills; building self-confidence, sense of enterprise, aesthetic sensibility and sportsmanship. Therefore, for the purpose of fostering core competencies in learners, this curriculum encompasses learning areas from scholastic and co scholastic point of view.

These secondary years are some of the most enriching ones when students are evolving into industrious, focused and self-assertive youth who begin to fathom the depths of various subjects. They understand the dynamics of juggling homework, tests, presentations and a wide range of intra and inter-school competitions.

SENIOR SECONDARY (GRADES XI & XII)

The school adheres to the CBSE curriculum and caters to the Science / Commerce Stream for classes XI & XII
